Object of the Bill

The object of this Bill is to amend the Value Added Tax Act Cap. 349 toto include the among the exempt supplies, the supply of betting, lotteries and games of chance to remove from the exempt supplies, the supply of biodegrable packaging materials; to remove from the zero rated suppliesthe supply of water excluding mineral water and aerated water containing sweetening matter or flavour; the supply and installation of mobile toilet, ekoloo toilets and components made from polythene.

The Bill is now an Act of Parliament. When a Bill has completed all its parliamentary stages on the floor of Parliament, it must have President Assent before becoming an Act of Parliament (law). President Assent is the State agreement to make the Bill into an Act and it is a formality.
