Object of the Bill
The main object of this Bill is to provide for the composition and functions of the Equal Opportunities Commission, pursuant to- (a) the National .Objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy set out in the Constitution which enjoins the prom1ion of, among others, the following idea for the establishment of a just, free, and democratic society - gender balance and fair representation of marginalized groups (paragraph VI); protection of the aged (paragraph VII): balanced and equitable development (paragraph XIII); Recognition of women in society (paragraph XV); recognition of the dignity of persons with disabilities (paragraph XVI)
